Hi there! I'm so excited that you're here. My name is Beth and I am a recent graduate of
Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Political Science. I am originally from Chicago (yes, I live in the city. No, I'm not from a suburb), but I've spent a majority of the last four years up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, which I am way too emotional about leaving. During my time in undergrad, I was an active member of Alpha Omicron Pi, where I learned how to be a leader and met my lifelong best friends. My five-year plan includes law school beginning next fall (of 2019), and I hope to one day work influencing legislation and policy. Some of my interests include reading and listening to podcasts (I know, I'm a nerd), spending every dollar I earn on clothes, listening to music, and being with the people that I care about.
During my sophomore year, I was elected AOII's Vice President of Membership Recruitment and the more I learned about sorority recruitment, the more passionate I became about helping the women of my chapter make lasting connections and articulate our values. My interest and passion for recruitment initially led me to apply for the position I have now, an Educational Leadership Consultant for Alpha Omicron Pi. As an ELC, I get the opportunity to travel around the United States and Canada for an academic year and assist AOII chapters with strengthening their programming, sisterhood, recruitment, and so on. I could not be more excited for this new chapter of my life.
The name of my blog is "Boldly Beth" because my goal for the year is to throw myself into every new experience that I'm offered, and document those experiences, and my travels here! I hope you stay with me on this journey and check back weekly for updates on how I'm doing, the places I've been, and the lessons I've learned so far.
For the next year, I'll be traveling with these women! Starting in the first row from left to right, there's Alexis, Jordan, Brook, and Anna. In the second row, left to right, there's Shaunna, Beth (me), Sara, Renn, Rachel, and Hallie. If you want to know more about them, check out their info here: https://www.alphaomicronpi.org/news/2018-2019-elcs/
Thanks so much for sticking through this entire post! I can't wait to share my experiences with all of you! Stick around for more posts and for more crazy stories from the road!
